Diyarbakır and Hannover strengthen cultural ties through music project

Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality, Hannover Municipality, and Ma Müzik are advancing a Cultural Cooperation Project aimed at strengthening ties between the two cities through music and the arts. As part of a program held from September 8 to 16, 2026, a delegation from Diyarbakır visited Hannover to prepare for joint stage performances and rehearsals.

The initiative focuses on increasing mutual experience sharing in music education and workshops. Key institutions involved include the Hannover Music School, the Aram Tigran City Conservatory, and Ma Müzik. The project plans to implement exchange programs to diversify collaborative musical works and enable musicians from both cities to engage in joint productions.

During the visit, the Diyarbakır delegation was hosted by Hannover Deputy Mayor Monica Plate, who also guided the group through the city’s historical and cultural sites. Discussions centered on expanding cultural relations and developing new musical projects. Plate expressed satisfaction with the cooperation and pledged support for future joint endeavors to establish lasting cultural bonds.
