Turkish-German cultural and youth exchange programs

Cultural and social exchange initiatives between Turkish regions and Hannover, Germany, have expanded through various collaborative programs.

In August 2026, the Kütahya Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports launched a Turkish-German Youth Mobility Program in Hannover. Working with the SV Nienhagen Sports Club, the initiative sent 15 young athletes and cultural ambassadors to participate in sporting activities and social tours. Bülent Küçük, the Kütahya Provincial Director of Youth and Sports, stated the program aims to help youth “overcome prejudices and develop intercultural communication skills” using sports as a common ground.

By September 2026, cooperation shifted toward the arts through a Cultural Cooperation Project between the Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality and Hannover Municipality. Supported by Ma Müzik and local music institutions, this project involves a delegation from Diyarbakır visiting Hannover for rehearsals and joint stage performances. The initiative focuses on music education, workshops, and exchange programs to foster lasting cultural bonds between the two cities.
