Diyarbakır Chamber and association partner for Kurdish children's theater

The Diyarbakır Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DTSO) has signed a cooperation and grant protocol with the Önce Çocuklar Association to support the ‘Şanozar’ Kurdish Children's Theater Project. The initiative aims to provide socio-economically disadvantaged children aged 9 to 15 in Diyarbakır with access to culture and the arts.

The six-month project will involve 15 participants, with a goal of ensuring at least 50% are girls. Through workshops in Kurdish theater and creative writing, children will engage in improvisation, body movement, and storytelling. The project intends to culminate in the creation of a collective story based on the children's own experiences, which will be transformed into a play and performed publicly after a month of rehearsals.

Managed by the Önce Çocuklar Association based in the Sur district, the project seeks to create a safe space for self-expression and collective production, addressing the need for cultural engagement among youth in the region.
