Djavan’s 50‑Year Career Celebrated in New Biography

A new biography titled *Djavan – dizem que o amor atrai* was released to mark the Brazilian singer‑songwriter’s five‑decade career. Written by Tiago Ramos and Mattos, the book explores Djavan’s musical evolution, family background and lesser‑known anecdotes.

Among the revelations is a 1987 invitation from legendary producer Quincy Jones for Djavan to write a track for Michael Jackson’s *Bad* album. Djavan recalled that Michael “seemed like a little bird, a bit scared,” and said the meeting left a lasting impression. The biography also details Djavan’s spiritual practices, his upbringing in Maceió, and personal stories that have never been published before.

The work arrives as Djavan, now 77, prepares for upcoming tour dates, offering fans a comprehensive look at his influence on MPB and his international connections.
