DJI announces SDR Transmission 2 launch amid U.S. import barriers

DJI has announced a launch event for September 1 at 20:00 GMT+8 for its new SDR Transmission 2. Leaked packaging suggests the product, titled ‘DJI SDR Transmission 2 Combo’, features units that are switchable between transmitting and receiving (TX/RX), a departure from the separate transmitter and receiver models sold previously. The device may support 4K 60fps HDR video transmission.

However, the product faces significant market barriers in the United States. Because the Federal Communications Commission added DJI’s communications equipment to its ‘Covered List’ in December 2025, new models cannot receive the necessary authorization required to be imported or sold within the U.S. market.
