DJI SDR Transmission 2 product launch

DJI announced the upcoming launch of its SDR Transmission 2, a wireless video transmission system. Early reports indicated the device would feature a unified design allowing units to switch between transmitting and receiving roles, potentially supporting 4K 60fps HDR video. However, the product faced significant market barriers in the United States, as the Federal Communications Commission added DJI’s communications equipment to its ‘Covered List’ in December 2025, preventing new models from receiving necessary import and sale authorizations.

Following the announcement, DJI officially launched the SDR Transmission 2, targeting small to medium-sized film crews. The system features a physical toggle switch for role switching and supports DCI 4K/60fps 10-bit HDR video with a 35-millisecond latency. Technical improvements include a 60% increase in transmission distance, reaching up to 4 kilometers, and the introduction of Automatic Channel 2.0 for interference management. The hardware integrates with the DJI Ronin ecosystem for remote camera control and supports large-scale setups with multiple transmitters and receivers.
