DJI launches SDR Transmission 2 wireless video system

DJI has officially launched the DJI SDR Transmission 2, a new wireless video transmission system designed for small to medium-sized film crews. The device features a unified transmitter and receiver design, allowing users to switch between roles via a physical toggle switch, which increases asset utilization for production teams.

Key technical upgrades include support for DCI 4K/60fps 10-bit HDR video with a maximum bitrate of 50Mbps and a low latency of 35 milliseconds. Utilizing new SDR technology, the transmission distance has increased by 60% compared to the previous generation, reaching up to 4 kilometers. The system supports high-density environments through Automatic Channel 2.0, which enables intelligent frequency scheduling and interference diagnosis.

The hardware is designed for scalability, with a single transmitter capable of connecting to up to eight receivers. For large-scale productions, the system supports up to five transmitters and 40 receivers simultaneously. The device integrates deeply with the DJI Ronin ecosystem, allowing for remote control of RS series stabilizers and camera parameters such as aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. It also supports SDI metadata transmission for professional cinema cameras like ARRI and RED.
