Djibouti distributes microcredits in Ali-Sabieh and Dikhil

In Djibouti, a joint mission from the Ministry of Women and Family and the Ministry of Agriculture is supervising the distribution of microcredits in the Ali-Sabieh and Dikhil regions. Part of the Dress-EA project, the initiative provides interest-free loans totaling 49 million Djibouti francs to 356 beneficiaries from seven cooperatives and 19 community mutuals.

The funds are intended to finance income-generating activities and strengthen the economic and social resilience of vulnerable communities, with a specific focus on women. To ensure responsible use of the financing and long-term sustainability, beneficiaries participated in training sessions covering entrepreneurship and accounting management. The loans are designed to be repaid progressively, allowing the mechanism to support future community members.
