Djoko Ristov corruption trial: Evidence of bribery and facilitated meetings presented

The corruption trial involving former appellate judge Djoko Ristov has progressed with the presentation of intercepted communications. Prosecutors allege that Ristov was involved in bribery related to the ‘Orient’ case, which includes charges of organized crime, prostitution, drug possession, and money laundering.

Evidence presented by prosecutor Iskra Hadzivasileva suggests that Ristov’s wife, Simona Ristova—who served as a state attorney at the time—facilitated meetings between the judge and individuals involved in criminal cases. Intercepted conversations between Edin Sheapi and Ali Arifi, the father of two defendants, indicate attempts to coordinate these meetings.

In one instance, Ristova reportedly coordinated a meeting near the Croatian Embassy. The prosecution is using these communications to demonstrate how meetings were organized with parties whose cases were pending before the Appellate Court. Real estate investor Krume Apos also testified during the hearing.
