DKI Jakarta announces school renovations and river revitalization projects

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has announced several major infrastructure and urban development initiatives. For the 2026 budget year, the administration targets the renovation and reconstruction of eight damaged schools. This includes priority projects for SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 09 and 11, which are expected to be completed by August 2027. These specific school projects, valued at over Rp50 billion, are being funded through a Floor Area Ratio (KLB) compensation scheme from PT Wisma Nusantara Internasional.

Other urgent school renovation priorities for 2026 include SMAN 102 Jakarta, SDN Cempaka Putih Barat 03, and SDN/TKN Papanggo 01, with a total estimated budget of approximately Rp249 billion. These projects will utilize a combination of private KLB funds and the Jakarta Regional Budget (APBD-P).

In terms of environmental management, Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has set a target to begin the comprehensive revitalization of Kali Kebon Melati in Tanah Abang by early 2027. The project, scheduled for completion in 2028, will involve building retaining walls, improving sanitation facilities (MCK), and increasing greenery along the 2.3-kilometer stretch. The Governor emphasized that the plan aims to improve the area without displacing long-term residents.
