DMRC becomes India’s first metro organization to achieve ISO 55001:2024 certification

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) has become the first metro organization in India to achieve the ISO 55001:2024 certification for its asset management system. This certification specifically pertains to the asset management of the Mumbai Metro Line-3.

According to a DMRC release, the achievement marks a transition from simple preventive maintenance to a strategic, risk-based, and life-cycle-oriented approach to asset management. The ISO 55001:2024 standard integrates asset performance, risk, and cost with the organization’s overall objectives to improve reliability, availability, and long-term cost-effectiveness.

DMRC is responsible for the operation and maintenance of a 33.5 km corridor of the Mumbai Metro Line-3, connecting Colaba, Bandra, and SEEPZ. The scope of management includes rolling stock, traction, signaling, telecommunications, stations, lifts, escalators, tracks, and civil infrastructure.
