Dock Sud Port Handles 10,000 Tons of Materials for Vaca Muerta Offshore Project

The Dock Sud port consortium coordinated a large‑scale logistics operation for the VMOS (Vaca Muerta Oil South) project driven by YPF. More than 10,100 tonnes of steel tubes – 721 in total, of which 658 were concrete‑coated – were loaded onto the vessel MV Athanasia at the public dock. The tubes form part of offshore infrastructure to be installed at Punta Colorada in Río Negro.

Materials were supplied by SIAT/Tenaris, stored by Tenaris/Loginter, received a special concrete coating at Socotherm’s plant in Escobar, and were then returned to Dock Sud for final shipment to San Antonio Este for installation. Consortium president Monica Litza said the operation “demonstrates the strategic value of Dock Sud within the logistics chain that supports Argentine energy development” and added that “the development needs infrastructure, investment and coordination between public and private sectors. This operation precisely reflects that capacity for joint work.”
