Doctor to King Charles III murdered by husband in Norfolk
Hannah Cain, a 45-year-old general practitioner who provided healthcare support to King Charles III and Queen Camilla during their stays at Sandringham, has been murdered by her husband.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, October 4, at the family home in Dersingham, Norfolk. While three children and two guests slept upstairs, Mark Cain, 45, attacked his wife. Post-mortem examinations revealed the cause of death was traumatic brain injury and cervical contusions, with evidence indicating the use of an axe followed by strangulation.
Mark Cain initially attempted to deceive authorities by reporting a false home invasion, claiming he had struggled with an unknown thief. However, police investigations and inconsistencies in his story led to his identification as the perpetrator. The prosecution has formally charged him with murder.
