Los Angeles Dodgers activate Evan Phillips and add Carlos Duran amid Rockies series

The Los Angeles Dodgers activated reliever Evan Phillips from the 60‑day injured list on Monday, ending a 13‑month recovery from Tommy John surgery. Phillips, the team’s saves leader in 2023 and 2024, pitched a rehab stint in Triple‑A Oklahoma City before re‑joining the active roster for the start of a three‑game series against the Colorado Rockies.

To accommodate Phillips, the Dodgers added right‑hander Carlos Duran to the 40‑man roster and designated left‑hander Jake Eder for release. Catcher Chuckie Robinson was also designated for assignment, and pitcher Paul Gervase was optioned to Triple‑A. The moves come as the Dodgers sit atop the NL West with a 14‑game lead and prepare to face the Rockies, who are last in the division. Starting pitcher Eric Lauer will face Rockies left‑hander Kyle Freeland in the series opener, a matchup previously seen when Lauer debuted for Los Angeles.
