Dodik and Čović support special electoral unit for Croats in BiH
Milorad Dodik, leader of the SNSD, has expressed support for the establishment of a special electoral unit within the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This unit would allow the Croat people to elect an authentic member of the Presidency, a move Dodik describes as a minimum requirement to ensure legitimate representation without disrupting the country's structure.
Dodik criticized Bosniak political leadership, alleging they misuse the letter of the Dayton Agreement regarding Croats while ignoring its spirit regarding Serbs. He argued that attempts by Bosniak politicians to manage Croat interests lead to the further destruction of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Dragan Čović, leader of the HDZ BiH, echoed these sentiments, stating that if such a proposal enters official procedures, his party will support it. Čović also criticized the role of Zagreb, suggesting that Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina have sacrificed their independence to follow Croatia's European integration path, relying on rhetoric rather than substantive changes to their status.
