Dolly Parton leaves unreleased song in Tennessee time capsule

Singer Dolly Parton has left an unreleased song titled “My Place in History” inside a time capsule known as the “Dream Box.” Located at the DreamMore Resort in Tennessee, the capsule is scheduled to be opened on January 19, 2046, to coincide with what would have been the artist's 100th birthday.

In addition to the musical recording, the Dream Box contains various objects related to Parton's career and items representing support received throughout her life. The project was established in 2015 during the inauguration of the resort. Parton previously expressed confidence in the quality of the song during a 2022 interview, though she also voiced concerns regarding the long-term preservation of the physical media and playback equipment within the sealed container.
