Dolomites vandalism: Unknown perpetrator removes Monte Pramaggiore summit cross

An unidentified individual, referred to by some as the ‘Jack the Ripper’ of the Alps, has escalated a series of vandalism incidents in the Italian Dolomites. The perpetrator has been targeting mountain summits, leaving behind torn summit books and cryptic, poetic messages regarding the preservation of nature and the impact of human waste.

The most recent incident occurred on Monte Pramaggiore in the Friulian Dolomites, where the individual not only destroyed the summit book but also forcibly removed the mountain's summit cross. Previous activities attributed to this person include damaging summit books at various bivouacs within the Schiara Group and causing disturbances on several mountains in the Belluno region.
