Dolomiti Energia boosts solar capacity in Emilia‑Romagna; Valbrona launches community PV project
Italian utility Dolomiti Energia finalized the acquisition of NB7 Srl, securing a nearly 20 MWp photovoltaic plant on a former extraction site in Montecchio Emilia, Reggio Emilia. The project adds to the company’s portfolio, bringing its total authorized solar capacity to over 29 MW and supporting its target of 60 MW by 2030. Construction is expected to start within months, with commissioning slated for late‑2027 or early‑2028 under a 20‑year feed‑in tariff.
In the Lombardy municipality of Valbrona, the local government partnered with Swedish firm Svea Solar to expand its Renewable Energy Community. The initiative already includes nine rooftop solar installations with a combined output of 58.6 kW and 27 members. Svea Solar will design and build additional panels, manage interactions with the national grid operator, and help attract new participants, aiming to lower energy costs, curb depopulation, and foster local economic resilience.
