Dolores Club to host 1920s-themed jazz Halloween event in Rio de Janeiro

The Dolores Club in the Lapa region of Rio de Janeiro will host the ‘Dolores Jazz Halloween’ on Friday, October 30. The event aims to blend Halloween festivities with the vintage glamour of 1920s swing era dance halls.

The program features a performance by the septet LoveTimeJazz, a group founded in 2022 by Lander Andrade and Thaissa Souza. The band will perform jazz and blues classics from the 1920s through the 1940s, including works by Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, Fats Waller, and George Gershwin.

In addition to the music, the night will include burlesque dance performances by Fairy Adams, tarot readings, and a costume ball. Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes ranging from traditional Halloween figures like vampires and witches to 1920s-inspired characters such as gangsters and Hollywood divas.
