Jazz events in Rio de Janeiro Lapa district

Overview

The Lapa district of Rio de Janeiro is hosting various jazz-focused musical initiatives. In October, the ‘Jazz dos Muertos’ project debuted at La Esquina, featuring a curation by Mônica Silva, Luciana Moisakis, and Márcia Milito. This project, which serves as a tribute to Rosa de Almeida, scheduled performances throughout October and November covering genres such as Bossa Nova, Samba Jazz, and Soul.

Following this, the Dolores Club announced a ‘Dolores Jazz Halloween’ event for October 30. This themed event features the septet LoveTimeJazz performing classics from the 1920s through the 1940s, alongside burlesque performances and a costume ball.
