Dominic Fritz advocates for early elections in Romania

USR President Dominic Fritz has advocated for early elections in Romania, arguing they should be viewed as a democratic mechanism to allow citizens to decide the country's direction rather than a mere constitutional curiosity. Fritz stated that decisions regarding early elections should not be made based on fear of potential results, noting that democracy requires giving power back to the people when those who created a crisis fail to resolve it.

Regarding the formation of a new government, Fritz indicated that USR's support for the designated Prime Minister, Luca Niculescu, will depend on the composition of the proposed team. He warned that USR cannot support a government where the PSD makes decisions, whether openly or behind the scenes.

Fritz also noted that he does not see an issue if the National Liberal Party (PNL) chooses to support the Niculescu government while USR does not, acknowledging that PNL is a different party that makes its own decisions. He referenced the urgency felt by political leaders to establish a government with full powers to overcome current political paralysis.
