Dominic Fritz attends final council meeting as Timisoara mayor

Dominic Fritz attended what he anticipates will be his final Timisoara Local Council meeting as mayor. His mandate is expected to end on September 29 following changes to integrity legislation.

During the session, Fritz thanked local councilors for their collaboration over the past years, noting that approximately 95% of decisions were made with near-unanimity. He emphasized a spirit of trans-partisan cooperation where administration often took precedence over politics.

Fritz characterized the termination of his mandate as ‘illegitimate and illegal’ and stated his intention to challenge the decision through legal channels. He assured attendees that he remains committed to the responsibilities he accepted from the voters of Timisoara in 2024 and will remain an active citizen of the city.
