Dominic Fritz prepares for end of Timișoara mayoral mandate

Dominic Fritz, the Mayor of Timișoara and president of the USR party, is preparing for the end of his term following the enactment of the ANI Law. He has announced a manifest event scheduled for September 27 to mark six years since his initial election victory and to address the termination of his mandate, which he characterizes as a response to a brutal abuse that nullifies the local vote.

As his term concludes, Fritz has highlighted the establishment of SaluT, a municipal sanitation company created last year to take street cleaning services in-house after dissatisfaction with a private operator. He noted that while the transition involved challenges with equipment and staffing, the city has since implemented modern equipment and clearer workflows. Fritz stated that his team of vice-mayors will take over the interim leadership of the Timișoara City Hall at the end of September.
