Dominic Thiem praises Carlos Alcaraz ahead of Vienna Open

Former US Open champion Dominic Thiem has praised Carlos Alcaraz as potentially the most entertaining player in the history of tennis. Thiem expressed his excitement regarding Alcaraz’s participation in the Erste Bank Open in Vienna.

Alcaraz, the world No. 3, joined the ATP 500 tournament as a late addition following the postponement of the Six Kings Slam in Saudi Arabia. This marks his first return to Vienna since 2021. Thiem described Alcaraz’s athleticism and creativity as incredible, stating, “Probably the most entertaining player to watch in the entire history of tennis. I don’t think there are many who can match him.”

The tournament field includes other prominent players such as Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev, Alex de Minaur, Flavio Cobolli, and Frances Tiafoe.
