Dominican Army detains Haitian migrants in Montecristi and Santiago Rodríguez operations

Dominican Army forces intercepted a total of 25 undocumented Haitian migrants during two separate border operations. In Montecristi province, soldiers discovered 14 migrants hidden in an abandoned dwelling in the El Pocito area and, in a distinct raid, uncovered a truck carrying 10 Haitians concealed among sacks of rice. The driver of the truck, identified as Treibi Manuel Gómez, was also detained. In Santiago Rodríguez province, a patrol from the Fourth Infantry Brigade stopped another 11 Haitian men traveling through the Canal de La Caída area. All detainees were placed under military custody before being transferred to the Dominican Republic's General Directorate of Migration for processing under national law.

These actions are part of the army's ongoing surveillance and interdiction efforts aimed at curbing illegal migrant trafficking and enhancing territorial security along the Dominican-Haitian border.
