Dominican athletes honored following Central American and Caribbean Games

Authorities in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, held a ceremony to recognize ten athletes and a coach for their achievements at the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo. Honorees included gold medalists in basketball 3x3, karate, athletics, and kitesurfing, as well as silver and bronze medalists in basketball, athletics, and karate.

Separately, Dulce María Piña, a member of the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD) Executive Committee, participated in the ‘Women and Leadership in Sport’ forum in Lima, Peru. Sponsored by Panam Sport, the international event focused on female leadership, gender equality, and increasing women's participation in sports decision-making roles. The forum brought together sports officials, athletes, and specialists from across the region to exchange best practices and discuss policies for greater inclusion.
