Dominican Chocolate Festival concludes sixth edition in Santiago
The sixth edition of the Dominican Chocolate Festival has concluded its 'Ruta Chocolatera' with a final event in Santiago. The festival, which included activities in Santo Domingo from September 11 to 13, brought together more than 18 Dominican chocolate brands.
The initiative focused on promoting the value of national cacao and encouraging the industrialization of the raw material into finished products. By developing high-value chocolate goods locally, the sector aims to increase income across the productive chain and expand commercial opportunities in both domestic and international markets.
Through exhibitions, tastings, and sensory experiences, the festival showcased the transformation processes of cacao and the diversity of local brands. The event also highlighted the work of the Dominican Association of Chocolatiers (ADOCHOCO), the first organization of its kind in the country, aimed at strengthening the national chocolate industry.
