Cuban residents hold meeting in France to discuss US blockade
The XVIII Meeting of Cuban Residents in Europe (ECRE) has opened in France, featuring the IV Cultural Festival ‘Cuba conmigo’. The event includes panels focused on the impact of the United States' economic blockade on Cuba, specifically addressing its effects on health, gender equality, and sustainable development goals.
During the sessions, participants discussed solidarity efforts, such as fundraising for hospital electrification in Matanzas and the distribution of medical supplies. Discussions also highlighted the upcoming United Nations vote regarding the blockade. The gathering serves as a platform for the Cuban diaspora to coordinate humanitarian aid and advocate for the island's social and economic needs.
