Dominican Health Insurers Clash Over Service Access Amid Planned Clinic Strike
The National Association of Social Security Affiliates (Asonafiss) criticized the Dominican Association of Health Risk Administrators (ADARS), saying the latter’s actions hinder timely medical care for social security affiliates. President Joel Rodríguez warned that despite substantial treasury transfers, ARS providers deny authorizations, leaving patients vulnerable, and announced possible mobilizations and protests to defend affiliate rights.
In response, ARS Futuro assured its members that medical services will continue normally despite the National Association of Private Clinics (Andeclip) announcing a strike of elective services starting 14 July. The insurer highlighted its network of over 8,200 providers nationwide and pledged to keep consultations, procedures and emergency care uninterrupted while seeking dialogue with Andeclip to resolve tariff and contract disputes.
