Dominican clinic dispute: suspension cancelled, talks
Overview
The tariff dispute between private clinics and Dominican insurers remains unresolved, but health services have stayed uninterrupted. After the Tribunal Superior Administrativo ordered the National Association of Private Clinics (ANDECLIP) to halt its announced suspension of care for ARS Primera and ARS Futuro members, Labour Minister Eddy Olivares mediated a meeting with the National Social Security Council, ADARS, the insurers and the clinic association. The parties agreed to cancel the planned shutdown, allowing more than 1.4 million patients to continue receiving routine and specialist care. DIDA and the Dominican Medical College called for continued dialogue, and a follow‑up meeting was scheduled for the following Wednesday to pursue a final agreement on tariff updates and contract terms. Negotiations continue under the oversight of the National Council of Social Security.
