Dominican Order Issues Warning Over Schismatic St. Pius X Activities in Poland

The Dominican Order in Poland released a statement warning Catholics against participating in events organized by the schismatic Society of Saint Pius X. The notice refers to the "Dominican Week of Spirituality" taking place from 26 July to 2 August 2026 in Lewin Kłodzki, which the Order says is run by individuals falsely presenting themselves as Dominicans.

Provincial priest Szymon Popławski highlighted that the event is led by former Dominican Wojciech Gołaski, dismissed from the Order in 2025, and cited recent episcopal consecrations performed by the Society in Econe, Switzerland without papal mandate. The Dominicans urged the faithful to avoid such gatherings, stressing that participation would contradict legitimate Church authority.

The warning underscores ongoing tensions between the mainstream Catholic hierarchy and traditionalist groups that operate outside Vatican approval.
