Dominican Republic advances provincial and municipal development planning initiatives
The Mancomunidad del Gran Santo Domingo (MGSD) has created a Provincial Development Council for Santo Domingo. The council will serve as a permanent inter‑institutional forum to identify and prioritize infrastructure projects for the 2027 national budget, aiming to align public spending with the province’s demographic and economic needs.
In Monte Plata, officials unveiled the Municipal Development Plan 2026‑2030, a comprehensive roadmap that defines the municipality’s vision, strategic goals and concrete actions for sustainable growth. The presentation involved national ministries, local government, private sector, NGOs and community groups, emphasizing participatory planning and long‑term territorial development.
