Dominican Republic Airport Flights Disrupted by New York Weather, Haiti Route Restored

Adverse weather over New York City forced several JetBlue flights to cancel or delay at Santo Domingo's Las Américas International Airport, stranding dozens of passengers and prompting airline staff to assist with rebooking. The cancellations included outbound flights to JFK and inbound arrivals from the U.S., while other services to Boston and Miami experienced significant delays.

Separately, direct air service between the Dominican Republic and Haiti has resumed, with Sunrise Airways operating six weekly passenger flights between Santo Domingo’s La Isabela Airport and Cap-Haïtien. The route had been suspended for over two years due to security concerns in Haiti and was reinstated on 30 May, showing stable passenger demand in its early weeks.
