Dominican Republic authorities execute 130 arrest warrants for domestic violence
The Specialized Directorate for Attention to Women and Domestic Violence (DEAMVI) executed 130 arrest warrants this week in coordination with the Public Ministry. These actions were part of a broader crackdown on gender-based and domestic violence across various locations in the Dominican Republic.
In addition to the warrants, authorities made 46 arrests in flagrante delicto. These detentions resulted from preventive patrols and police responses to citizen reports regarding violence against women and family conflicts. The National Police stated that these operations will continue permanently, focusing on areas with high reported incidences of domestic violence.
