Dominican Republic Comptroller releases 28 new public audit reports

The Contraloría General de la República (CGR) has released 28 new audit reports covering various Dominican state institutions for the period between August 2020 and December 2025. This release, ordered by President Luis Abinader, includes 25 comprehensive audits and three follow-up reports. This brings the total number of publicly available audit reports to 67.

Among the findings, an internal audit of the National Council for the Elderly (CONAPE) revealed that the institution made disbursements totaling over RD$162 million without the required legal supporting documentation, such as certifications from the State Provider Registry (RPE) and the Tax Administration (DGII). CONAPE has indicated it is currently in the process of rectifying these findings.

General Comptroller Geraldo Espinosa Pérez stated that the disclosure aims to promote transparency and allow citizens and civil society to monitor the use of public funds. The CGR is also coordinating with the Chamber of Accounts to prevent duplication of inspections.
