Dominican Republic expands digital government services

The Dominican Republic government launched the "Tranca Cero" platform to identify and eliminate unnecessary bureaucratic procedures, receiving more than 1,000 citizen reports and sending 95 corrective letters to ministries.

The Office of Governmental Technologies (OGTIC) reported that over 80 public institutions now share information through interoperable systems, reducing duplicate paperwork and offering 645 digital procedures via the GOB.DO portal. New tools include a Smart ID citizen account with 300,000 users and digital signatures in more than 200 agencies.

The Senate received NORTIC A3 and E1 certifications for open data and social‑media management, underscoring its commitment to transparent, digital governance.

The Chamber of Accounts trained more than 390 local governments on the SICEEP system to improve fiscal accountability and introduce digital reporting of assets.

The Directorate General of Internal Taxes (DGII) highlighted rapid growth in electronic invoicing, issuing 1.859 billion e‑CF documents and tripling the number of registered electronic emitters. It also announced the simplification of 33 tax procedures, removal of 68 requirements, and a forthcoming virtual office for online queries and services, along with a draft rule to exempt electronic emitters from a 30% ITBIS withholding.
