Dominican Republic JCE Extends Party Registration; MICM Holds Ruta Mipymes in San Pedro
The Junta Central Electoral (JCE) approved a 30‑day extension for the registration of political party members after a request from the Foro Permanente de Partidos Políticos de la República Dominicana (FOPPPREDOM). The additional period begins after the original deadline and is intended to allow parties to complete incorporations, withdrawals and correct any inconsistencies in their affiliate rolls.
The Partido Quisqueyano Demócrata Cristiano (PQDC) reported that it submitted an updated electoral register to the JCE on 31 July 2026, becoming the first party to file the required documentation within the legal deadline. PQDC president Elías Wessin said, “El PQDC no habla de institucionalidad solamente en el discurso: la práctica,” emphasizing the party’s commitment to compliance.
Separately, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Mipymes (MICM) organized the Ruta Mipymes in San Pedro de Macorís from 7 to 9 August 2026. Minister Eduardo “Yayo” Sanz Lovatón invited entrepreneurs and the public to a free three‑day event featuring business networking, financial advisory services, formalisation assistance, a crafts bazaar, cultural performances and live music, aimed at strengthening micro, small and medium‑sized enterprises in the province.
