Dominican Republic enacts law to promote STEM education

Dominican Republic Deputy Vicente Sánchez Henríquez has secured the enactment of a law establishing November 8 as the National STEM Education Day. The legislation is designed to serve as a platform connecting the state, private enterprises, and younger generations to address the opportunities within the future economy.

A primary objective of the initiative is to strengthen private sector involvement in developing STEM talent. By fostering closer articulation between private companies, government institutions, and the educational sector, the law aims to promote training programs, internships, and first-employment opportunities. This collaboration seeks to bridge the gap between academic training and the specific technical competencies demanded by the modern labor market.
