Dominican Republic expands national violence‑against‑women consultation to include municipal federation
The Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Women has broadened its National Consultation for Reducing Violence Against Women by incorporating the Federación Dominicana de Municipios (Fedomu). The expanded effort will mobilise municipal leaders to engage 5,000 men across the country, gathering their experiences and proposals to strengthen public policies aimed at preventing violence against women.
Fedomu president Nelson Núñez pledged municipal support, noting the federation’s role in convening local actors and turning dialogue into concrete actions.
The consultation seeks to translate the input from men into actionable recommendations that will enhance prevention programs and promote more equitable, non‑violent community relations.
