Dominican Republic completes emergency cash aid to 3,481 families in Greater Santo Domingo

The Dominican Republic’s Supérate program finished distributing the Emergency Bonus to a total of 3,481 households in the Greater Santo Domingo area. Each family received RD 7,000, representing a total outlay of RD 24.367 million – RD 1.638 million for the latest 234 families in Santo Domingo Norte and RD 22.729 million previously allocated to households in Los Alcarrizos, Pedro Brand, Santo Domingo Oeste, Los Ríos and the Distrito Nacional.

The delivery took place at the Santo Domingo Norte City Hall, with mobile units of the Banco de Reservas installed to enable rapid and secure cash exchanges. Juan Herrera, Sub‑Director of Operations for Supérate, announced the completion of the program, emphasizing the government’s “anticipatory policy” to protect vulnerable families. Local officials, including Mayor Betty Gerónimo and Governor Lucrecia Santana, highlighted the initiative as part of President Luis Abinader’s broader adaptive social protection strategy, which also includes programs such as Aliméntate, Bono Gas, Bono Luz, Avanza y Aprende, and the National Fund for Children and Adolescents with Disabilities.
