Dominican Republic infrastructure investments aim to boost trade and tourism

During the IX Ibero-American Conference of Ministers of Transport and Infrastructure in Valladolid, Spain, Dominican Minister of Public Works and Communications Eduardo Estrella highlighted the country's strategic investments in infrastructure. Estrella emphasized that developments in ports, airports, urban mobility, roads, and bridges are designed to strengthen connectivity and drive both commerce and tourism.

The Minister outlined four key areas of connectivity: maritime, airport, urban, and interurban. Maritime and airport investments aim to facilitate goods transport and international passenger movement, while urban projects include monorails and cable cars. Interurban efforts focus on connecting productive centers and tourist destinations through improved road and bridge networks. Estrella also identified priorities such as climate resilience, port security, and logistical continuity.
