Overview

In the north, Puerto Plata continues to grow, recently hosting the first Disney Cruise Line vessel at the Taíno Bay terminal. Additionally, the nation is diversifying through sports tourism agreements with Argentina and promoting ecotourism via projects like KAIA Glamping in Nisibón.

International outreach remains a priority. Following roadshows in Houston, the Ministry has launched the ‘Meet in Paradise Canada 2026’ fair in Toronto to target the Canadian market and is engaging British investors through Banco Popular Dominicano in London. Minister Collado noted that despite global economic challenges, key markets in Europe, Canada, and the Americas remain in positive territory.
