Dominican Republic launches 24-hour business incorporation platform

The Dominican Republic has launched “Empresas en 24 Horas” (E24H), a digital platform designed to streamline business incorporation. The initiative, presented by President Luis Abinader and Minister of Industry, Commerce, and MSMEs Eduardo “Yayo” Sanz Lovatón, aims to reduce the time required to formalize a company from weeks or months to just 24 hours.

The single-window portal integrates three key government agencies: the National Office of Industrial Property (ONAPI) for name registration, the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Santo Domingo for the mercantile registry, and the Taxes Agency (DGII) for the national taxpayer registry. The platform features a centralized application form, online payments, and automated validation tools.

This modernization follows the enactment of Law 30-26, which repealed the company constitution tax, a significant barrier to entrepreneurship. Officials noted that the platform and the standardization of mercantile registry criteria are intended to improve the business climate, reduce bureaucracy, and attract foreign investment, supporting the national goal of doubling the economy's size within a decade.
