Dominican Republic to host opening baseball clash vs Puerto Rico at 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games

The men's baseball tournament for the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games will take place in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, from July 31 to August 7, 2026. Eight national teams – Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Curazao, Mexico, Panamá, Colombia and Nicaragua – are divided into two groups of four. The opening night features a marquee matchup between the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico on July 31 at 19:00 local time at Estadio Quisqueya Juan Marichal.

Group A also includes Cuba and Curazao, while Group B comprises Mexico, Panamá, Colombia and Nicaragua. The top three teams from each group will advance to the second round, followed by semifinals on August 6 and the medal games on August 7. The schedule releases a full slate of daily games, with each nation playing one match per day during the preliminary phase. The tournament culminates with the gold‑medal game on the final day, crowning the Central American and Caribbean champion.
