Dominican Republic lifts green rain alert for 13 provinces amid tropical wave

The Dominican Republic's meteorological agency warned of a vaguada and a tropical wave moving across the northeast, bringing moderate to heavy rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds in the Cibao region and north‑west provinces. The Center of Emergency Operations (COE) raised a green alert for 13 provinces and the Distrito Nacional, advising residents to avoid crossing swollen rivers, streams and ravines, and to stay away from public swimming areas. The alerts are based on forecasts of sustained showers through the evening, with the risk of isolated hail and sudden flash floods.

Authorities urged the public to follow civil protection bulletins and to remain prepared for rapid changes in the weather conditions.
