Dominican Republic opens free bus line for 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games
The Operadora Metropolitana de Servicios de Autobuses (OMSA) in Santo Domingo has launched a new free bus service called “Servicio de conexión con el Parque del Este” to transport residents, athletes, volunteers and officials during the Central American and Caribbean Games scheduled for July 24 – August 8 2026. The route links directly with the Concepción Bona Metro station, facilitating easy transfers. OMSA will deploy 400 buses in coordination with the Sistema de Transporte Estudiantil (TRAE) and has instituted continuous ozone cleaning of the vehicles, achieving up to 99.9% disinfection. Executive Vice‑President Onéxico González emphasized the importance of reliable transport for the success of the games and urged drivers to serve the country, not just the president.
