Dominican Republic parties submit updated membership rolls to electoral board
The Partido Revolucionario Dominicano (PRD) delivered a register of 212,744 affiliates to the Junta Central Electoral (JCE) and announced a target of over 500,000 members by 2027. The Partido de la Liberación Dominicana (PLD) also submitted its latest membership roll to the JCE. The Partido Revolucionario Moderno (PRM) faced claims that its electoral roll had been reduced, which the party disputed after presenting an updated list. Overall, the submissions reveal uneven growth among Dominican political parties, with some reporting large increases in registered members while others adjust numbers following verification processes.
These updates are part of compliance with Law No. 33‑18, which requires parties to regularly provide accurate membership data to the electoral authority. The changes could influence internal party dynamics and future electoral strategies.
