Dominican Republic reopens Consulate General in Caracas

The Dominican Republic has officially reopened its Consulate General in Caracas, Venezuela, as of Thursday, October 1. This move marks a significant step in the gradual normalization of diplomatic relations between the two nations following a rupture in July 2024.

Led by Consul General Héctor Pastor Vásquez, the consulate is offering a full range of services, including passport applications, visas, legal certifications, notary powers, and assistance for Dominican citizens. The facility is located in the Multicentro Empresarial del Este in the Chacao municipality.

While new procedures can now be initiated directly in Caracas, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX) clarified that any ongoing applications or appointments previously managed through the Dominican consulate in Bogotá, Colombia, will be completed in Bogotá. Documents processed in Colombia will not be transferred to Venezuela for pickup.
