Dominican Republic reopens consulate in Caracas

The Dominican Republic is reopening its Consulate General in Caracas, Venezuela, on October 1, 2026. This move follows the formal restoration of diplomatic and consular relations between the two nations on August 2, 2026, after a two-year hiatus.

As a result of the reopening, all visa applications for Venezuelan nationals must now be processed directly through the Caracas mission. Consequently, the Dominican Republic's Consulate General in Bogotá, Colombia, will cease accepting new visa applications for Venezuelan citizens starting September 30, 2026. The Bogotá office will only complete applications already registered in the Mission Management System (SGM).
