Dominican Republic sets $120,000 daily rent for Olympic Stadium

Sports Minister Kelvin Cruz announced that the Estadio Olímpico Félix Sánchez will charge US$120,000 per day for large events, a rate intended to generate up to a million dollars annually for the venue's upkeep. He also proposed a US$50,000 daily fee for the Arena Banreservas Virgilio Travieso Soto. The pricing scheme is part of a self‑management model for facilities built for the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games, aiming to fund maintenance, security, landscaping and other services without relying on state budgets. Cruz highlighted that the revenues could reach between US$1.5 million and US$2 million a year, which would also support other sites in the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Complex.
